This document provides access to all water elevation data collected as part of
CCALMR's circulation characterization project. During the course of this project,
CCALMR aquired three pressure transducer devices but only one (gauge number three)
was retained. Gauges one and two were purchased initially from a private vendor but
did not meet targets for robustness and reliability. Below is a brief summary of all
deployments:
- Deployment One: Gauge two was installed on channel
marker 13 near the entrance for a two week trial (5/3/95 to 5/15/95).
Data from this trial was recovered, but the instrument proved to be
inappropriately configured and failed to resolve most of the signal.

- Deployment Two: Gauges one and two were installed for
just over a month each. Gauge one was installed near Dick point (7/26/95 to
9/7/95) while gauge two was installed on the TBNEP dock (7/26/95 to 8/29/95).
Data was recovered from both the instruments, but the gauages again
failed to perform, displaying a lower limit of sensitivity at about 1 meter
depth. In addition, equipment malfunction and subsequent alterations for repair
made post calibration of gauge one impossible. This data set is therefore
reported as "digital clicks".

- Deployment Three: Gauges two and three were deployed in
tandem on the Coast Gaurd dock (9/3/95 to 10/12/95)
in the Garibaldi boat basin in hopes of
cross-calibrating gauge two against the more reliable gauge three. Gauge two
failed to communicate with the download software, however, and no data was
recovered. Gauge three provided clean, reliable data is engineering units.

- Deployment Four: Finally, gauge three was deployed on a
dolphin in the navigation channel near Pacific Oyster (10/12/95 to 11/20/95)
while gauge one was again installed off Dick Point (10/11/95 to 11/16/95).
Gauge three again provided good data, but the batteries went dead on gauge
one, and no data was recovered.
