Project I.4.4: Information analysis and Integration
Project Name: I.4.4: Information analysis and Integration
Project Leads: Cyber infrastructure Team

Project Description
This project encompasses diverse tools for integrating and analyzing information. The main tool-set is the script-based web interface providing internal and public access to the Data repository. The SATURN endurance station interface provides map-based access to data and is organized in multiple dimensions: Each SATURN platform has its own dedicated page, but cross-platform access is also supported through the “datamart”. Each SATURN page displays the current conditions and highlights timeseries from the most recent 2, 7, and 15 day periods. Complex extractions can be specified providing access to annotated data as well as generating scatter plots over arbitrary historical time periods. The SATURN pioneer array interface provides menu-driven access to data collected during CMOP campaigns. The Skill Assessment system provides an objective assessment of skill and performance of circulation models used for forecasts, simulation databases, and scenario analysis. Using several derived quantities based on model/data comparisons, the quality of a simulation can be assigned a measure giving unbiased comparisons across differing models, domains, and parameterizations.
Fits in program
Access to the varieties of data stored in the Data repository is key to the mission of CMOP; tools such as the Skill Assessment system provide objective analysis of results generated by circulation models.
Outcomes
A powerful easy-to-use interface to the Data repository that is the tool of choice for rapid data access and analysis together with analysis products for comparing and assessing circulation model results.
