January 5
OGI01: Visit using NMFS vessel Siliqua and 10 zodiac. Dive to inspect mooring; light fouling, no damage to surface elements and all rubber tethers intact; zincs need replacing. Attempt to download data, but download software fails, re-deploy instrument. Instrument battery at 15.4V. The above surface part of buoy is also completely undamaged and intact. Deteriorating conditions prevent change of batteries for navigation light. The buoy is surrounded by crab pot markers; therefore the crab fisherman are well aware of its presence and it is clear of tugboat and other fishing boat traffic.
