CORIE observation network

The network has 18 fixed stations in the Columbia River estuary and two in the plume/shelf. Sensor composition varies: temperature is measured at all stations; water level, salinity, and velocity profiles are measured selectively. Most stations have real-time telemetry and are deployed year-round. Plume/shelf stations are operated late Spring to early Fall.

A vessel operated by Clatsop Community College is equipped with automated oceanographic instrumentation and telemetry, constituting a mobile station.

Most CORIE observations are displayed in real time, albeit with limited quality control. Off-line quality control is done on a monthly basis.

Extensions of the CORIE information technology infrastructure support Today's Ocean and the dissemination of NANOOS data.
