Recognizing that one of the major limitations in field-scale
studies is the availability of sufficient spatial and temporal data, one
of the primary driving forces for the instrumentation of RALF is the aquistion
of data in a real-time fashion. This goal is not feasible for all
chemical parameters, however many physical and some chemical parameters
may be collected in real-time or pseudo real-time manner.
Instrumentation providing real-time or pseudo real-time data
include:
-
3-dimensional Acoustic Doppler Velocimeter (ADV) (Sontek)
-
Dissolved Oxygen probe/meter (Orion)
-
pH/ISE Ion Selective electrodes (Orion)
-
DLK-100 Potentiostat (AIS)
-
Solid State Au/Hg amalgam microelectrodes
-
PGSTAT-30 Potentiostat (EcoChemie, NL)
equipped with Metrohm Hanging Mercury Drop Electrode (HMDE)
-
Gilford Stasor III Flow-through spectrophotometer
-
HNU Gas-Chromatograph with Photo-Ionization Detection for analysis
Acid Volatile Sulfur (AVS)
